The multi-million dollar redevelopment of this large park includes a new residential Robinson Park subdivision, children’s playground, barbecues, seating, lighting, street parking and a dog exercise area.
Background
Through the City's Public Open Space (POS) Strategy the City developed a proposal to subdivide part of the land to create 42 residential lots and use the proceeds from sale to redevelop the park. The benefits include increased security, with homes facing the park area.
Blocks in the new residential subdivision range from 350m2 to 447 m2.
The new park area incorporates a fully fenced adventure playground with play equipment for varying ages, shade sails, a barbecue and shaded seating area, public toilets, drink fountain, separate recreation area for ball sports and car parking.
The ‘dog exercise area’ features agility equipment, parking and dual dog and owner water fountains.
A path network will surround the park and lighting will be installed across the entire site.
